PUBLIC CARDROOMS
The following is a directory of two hundred twenty cardrooms throughout the United and Canada that have offered Texas Hold’em poker. As of January 2003, the information is current and includes addresses, phone numbers, and when available, Web sites. For updated information and additional links to Web sites, you should go to the companion Web site for this book http://intelligentpoker.com. There have been hundreds of cardrooms scattered throughout the United States because most states have had some form of legalized gambling.
However, not all casinos will have a cardroom and not all cardrooms offers will be subject to change. The listings in this book will not be means to be all-inclusive. Before planning a trip to any cardroom, you should call ahead and inquire about the hours of operation, games available, the structure of the games, the betting limits, and the current house rules. Most of the cardrooms that have been listed below have offered regularly scheduled poker tournaments. You should call to inquire about poker tournament schedules, buy-ins, and prizes.
The cardrooms that have been listed for the United States have been sorted by state and have been grouped into regions. Nearly half of the one hundred ninety-seven United States listings have been located in Nevada and California.
